YHC hosts Egg-chanted Valley Egg Hunt
Young Harris, GA (02/25/2026) — Young Harris College is hosting a free community egg hunt on March 28.
The inaugural Egg-chanted Valley Egg Huntis open to the Young Harris and surrounding community. Beginning at noon, the egg hunt will be divided into two age categories: 6 years old and below, and 7 years old and older. The egg hunters will be challenged to find eggs hidden across the beautiful YHC campus.
"We will have a lot of activities set up for the day," said Emma Parks, YHC student and member of the Gamma Psi sorority, which is organizing the event. "We'll have potato sack races and egg and spoon races. Food trucks will be set up on campus as well. Our mascots, Luke and June, will be there, too!"
The Egg-chanted Valley Egg Hunt will be a great excuse to be on YHC's campus. Following the egg hunt and other activities, the YHC Climbing Tower will open at 2, and anyone attending the egg hunt will also get free admission to any of the sporting events going on that day on campus.
"Guests simply need to take the event brochure to whatever sporting event they choose, and they get in free," Parks said.
Several YHC Mountain Lion teams will be in action that day:
- Baseball vs. King University: 1 p.m., Zell B. Miller Field
- Softball vs. King University: 1 p.m., YHC Softball Field
- Men's Lacrosse vs. Lees-McRae: 1 p.m., YHC Soccer & Lacrosse Field

"It's a great opportunity for families to have fun together here at Young Harris College," Parks said. "We're looking forward to a great event, and a great day here in the Egg-chanted Valley!"
The Egg-chanted Valley Egg Hunt will be held rain or shine. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved into the Rollins Campus Center.
