YHC Board of Trustees honors Wyck Knox

Young Harris, GA (01/08/2026) — The Board of Trustees of Young Harris College passed a resolution at its November meeting, honoring Emeritus Board Member Wyck A. Knox Jr. for his service to the College.

"A college depends on its Board of Trustees for leadership, direction, and counsel," said YHC President John Wells. "Having Emeritus Board Members, like Wyck, are critical to our success."

Knox Jr. has been a member of the Young Harris College Board of Trustees, serving with distinction as a trustee and emeritus trustee for 18 years. He served on the Development, Executive, and Presidential Search Committees, and served as Chair of the Endowment Committee for three years, four years as Chair of the Finance Committee, and served three years as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees.

"Wyck was known for giving unselfishly of his time, talents, and resources to Young Harris College, and providing keen insight, legal acumen, wise counsel, and generous friendship to the Board of Trustees," YHC Trusteeship Committee Chair Jerry Nix added. Wells added.

Knox received the Nancy Louis Haynes Stephens Sanderson Robertson Outstanding Friend Award by the YHC Alumni Association in 2017 for his outstanding friendship and support of YHC.

The Board resolution was designed to honor Knox Jr., who passed away on Aug. 9, 2025. The resolution was presented to the Knox family at the November meeting of the YHC Board of Trustees.
