Space aliens visit Rollins Planetarium in February
Young Harris, GA (02/05/2025) — Are you hopeful or skeptical about life beyond Earth? If so, swing on by the O. Wayne Rollins Planetarium, Feb. 28 to hear the experts talk about it, and make up your mind for yourself. You'll also help support scholarship efforts for YHC students.
Space Aliens: Looking for Life in the Universe: Friday, Feb. 28 - 7 & 8 p.m.
Alien "experts" - hopeful and skeptical - as they try to convince each other whether or not life exists beyond the Earth. Follow the astrobiology arguments from the ocean floor to a journey across the galaxy.
They'll discuss what alien life might look like on other worlds, the planetary conditions needed for life to evolve and the different exoplanetary systems that might make good candidates for extraterrestrial life.
"Proceeds from this show will support scholarships for YHC students participating in the 'Marvels of Peru: Science at the Equator' study away trip in May 2024," said Lauren Albin, Planetarium director. "Your contribution will help make this incredible opportunity possible!"
The O. Wayne Rollins Planetarium features shows for the general public on select Friday evenings. Tickets for shows can be purchased at the door with cash or check. Tickets can also be purchased online via Eventbrite: https://www.yhc.edu/academics/math-science/rollins-planetarium/public-shows
